ILOILO CITY The National Capital Region (NCR) maintains its lead as hostilities in the ongoing 2012 State Colleges and Universities Athletics Association (SCUAA) National Olympics hosted by Iloilo City continue to heat up.
The powerhouse NCR has a medal tally of 11 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze medals while Southern Tagalog and host Western Visayas regions tied at second place with five gold, six silver and seven bronze medals each.
Zamboanga Peninsula reaped five gold, two silver and four bronze medals while Central Luzon region bagged two gold, four silver and two bronze medals for third and fourth places, respectively.
Placing fifth was CARAGA region with two golds, one silver and two bronzes while Ilocos Region has one gold and three silvers for sixth.
Bicol region placed seventh with one gold, one silver and two bronzes; Northern Mindanao at eight with one gold and one bronze medals; and ninth placer Cagayan Valley with a lone gold medal.
On the other hand, Region 10 was ranked at 10th place while eleventh placers are Region 7, Region 8, ARMM, CAR and Region 11. (PNA)
