SJI captures NOPSSCEA 10-Under Caging
Daniel Coo paced SJI Baby Falcons with 15 points as four other teammates also scored in double figures, led by Kurt Coloso, 13; Kyan Andrade, 12; while Vinny Vasquez and Miguel Sarmiento contributed with 10 each.
Trinity’s Jeremiah Castro finished with a game-high 22 points and Kenn Joseph Ong added 10 to settle for first runner-up honors, the school’s best finish in the tourney.
The Baby Falcons, mentored by Rey Pandoro, lead in the first quarter, 28-10 with Andrei Philip Lechoncito, Coo and Coloso combining for 20 points.
They continued to dominate the game, taking the half, 55-28, with Coo, Coloso and Vasquez again combined for 20 points.
TCS coach Arvin Gustilo said they managed to outscore SJI in the last two quarters, 18-17, and 14-9 , but it was not enough to overhaul the lead of the Baby Falcons. (PNA)
