The Philippine National Police Academy is now accepting applications from young and energetic persons who want to take the entrance examination to join the Philippine National Police Officers Corps.
Philippine Public Safety College Regional Training Director Supt. Marcial Magistrado IV said that the PNPA Cadet examination will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at 7a..m at the Western Mindanao State University and in other venues in all regions in the country. Deadline for submission of application will be on September 19, 2008.
Applicants can get application form from at PPSA in Pasonanca, WMSU or they can log-in at www.pnpa.edu.ph.
Qualifications for applicants: Must be a natural born Filipino citizen, with good moral character, male or female, must be single; height for female must be 5’2 and for male 5’4; high school graduate, mentally and physically fit, no criminal case or liability to any court or law.
Male must be able to perform 10 pull-ups, 40 push-ups in 2 minutes, 55 sit-ups in 2 minutes, 100 meter dash run in 17 seconds and 1000 meter run for 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
For female, she must be able to perform 35 push-ups in 2 minutes, full arms hanging in 40 seconds, 50 sit-ups for 2 minutes, 100 meter dash run in 20 seconds and 1000 meter run in 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
In another development, Supt. Magistrado disclosed that there are 327 police students undergoing schooling and training at PPSA, 56 police officers for Public Safety Officers Basic Course Class 2008-01 for Inspectors to Chief Inspectors , 56 police officers for Public Safety Junior Leadership Course Class 2008-01 for PO3 to SPO1, 149 for Public Safety Basic Recruit Course for police recruits and 66 officers orientation courses for Inspectors.
Magistrado also invited professional gun owners or professional shooters to join the Regional Training Directors Cup Shooting Competition on September 20 to 21, 2008 at RTS9 La Hermosa Gun Club Inc. Firing Range at Pasonanca. — Allen Abastillas
